Hey gang! The Mr.Sauli team has been working hard at realising some screen prints for the Blaak10 gallery exhibit “Work Offline” which will be until January 8th, in 2009 Anno Domini. The screen print is named “We Owned Other Team”, and is a mashup of the ubiquitous Obama / Hope poster by Shepard Fairy and the square smilies recently introduced by Google into its Gmail service. We’ll continue working on a plaintext version of the poster.. We’ve a few copies left, if you’re interested, e-mail me.

Coming back to the previous post, this is just too good to allow you to pass up on.. in this TED video, a man called Rives tells a story of mixed emoticons.. (it’s like, you had me at emoticons) It reminds me a bit of Young Hae-Chang Heavy Industries, which is of course, also totally cool.

Some pictures taken at the 3radicals exposition at tent. in Rotterdam, during the filmfestival in Rotterdam. It also featured work of the incomparable Paul Sharits.

Last night there was yet another occurence of this museumnacht phenomenon. I laid low, mostly.. checked out the CBK, V!PS as well as V2, where I was witness to this wicked piece from 1994..

Primal Scream is an installation in which Mr. Sauli hopes to entice the user into screaming as loud as he or she possibly can. The user is expected to stick her head into a black box extruding from a wall, which triggers the installation. The installation recites a short instruction and invites the user to scream as hard as she can. The volume of the scream causes a video to play back, and afterwards the installation comments on the length and volume of the scream. Thereby inviting the user to try again, and possibly do better..

In “Dans! Luttele Zuster” (a somewhat phonetic translation into the Dutch language of dance little sister) Mr. Sauli thrusts his kustom guitar shaped kontroller into his audience’s hands! The user is transformed into the frontperson of a fully interactive, poseable digital electrorock outfit. By striking a pose and pushin’ the K.I. (Kustom Interface) buttons she can put on quite a show. Rockin’ the grooves out of your momma’s LP collection.

3 september viert submarine haar eerste lustrum in de stadsschouwburg te Amsterdam. Wij van Mr. Sauli geven hieraan graag de stempel onzer goedkeuring voor zo een uitbundig feest.. gaat heen en vermaak u.
